Duo Roverelli Braconi
The artistic link between Mirko Roverelli e Monaldo Braconi born in the womb of the Orchestra and Choir of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia of Rome where both had the role of collaborating pianists.
The musical affinity immediately meant that the duo successfully tackled the important repertoire for choir and piano 4 hands or two pianos, moving towards ambitious projects such as countless performances of “Carmina Burana” by Carl Orff, “Les Noces” by Igor Stravinsky or the “Petite Messe Solemnelle” by Gioacchino Rossini under the direction of important directors such as Norbert Balatsch, Andrea Faidotto, Ciro Visco, Piero Monti.
In the past chamber season of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia they attempted the absolute premiere of "Les Nuages” by Matteo D’amico, for choir and piano four hands and cello, under the direction of Andrea Secchi.
This collaboration allowed the duo to tackle repertoire even without a choir, being in fact among the founders of the group "PianoFortissimoPercussionEnsemble” composed of two pianos and percussion, Roverelli and Braconi have prepared and performed a varied repertoire from American greats such as Gershwin, Bernstein Copland, to the French such as Ravel, Bizet and the Spanish, arousing great enthusiasm from the public everywhere.
The execution of the concerto K 465 for two pianos and orchestra by W. A. Mozart at the Parco della Musica in Rome, under the direction of Carlo Rizzari, visible on YouTube channels.
Both also often meet on the stage as conductor and soloist, finding themselves together again in tackling great masterpieces of the repertoire for piano and orchestra. Worth noting are the performances of the second concerto for piano and orchestra by Sergei Rachmaninov, the first by Franz Liszt, the third of L. v. Beethoven e, next season 25/26, the concerto in A minor for piano and orchestra by Edward Grieg.
