SONORITA courses’ ITALIAN in the world
“But I want to pour everything into you, and in this I am glad to learn something, to teach; nor will any thing please me, although it is exceptional and salutary, which I am going to know for myself. If wisdom is given with this exception, that I may keep it enclosed and not utter it, sell: It is a pleasant possession of no good without a partner”. Seneca

Our association was born with the intention of studying, perform and disseminate the very rich repertoire of the Italian musical school.
Dal 2004 aimed precisely at this objective, we made the project known and brought it forward 'Italian sound’ in Italy and abroad through concerts, master, events, conventions and conferences, for the diffusion of Italian musical culture, and specifically classical Neapolitan.
When, In the 2006, we inaugurated the activities of the association, we realized that our countless ideas needed a precise direction: we have chosen to follow that of the work done in our personal career, of researchers and performers of the immense Italian vocal and instrumental musical heritage ( and specifically Neapolitan).
AWe have concretized this path with the project 'Italian sound in the world'.
NIt doesn't seem like all these years have passed, from the first edition of the courses, because the enormous passion for music that has always guided our lives has accompanied us since the beginning of this adventure and continues to be with us unfailingly.
IOur first objective was to establish scholarships for talented young musicians, to be assigned within the courses, aware of the difficulties encountered during musical studies, especially in situations like ours.
Se ‘Italian sound’ today it is an event of high prestige and national and international visibility, it's only because we have always believed in ourselves, and in the help of all those, musicians, amici, family members (every other year, the institutions were also 'present'), that from 2006 to date they have been close to us and continue to be.
EI was well aware of the difficulties we would encounter: but I absolutely do not regret having chosen my city as the headquarters of the event.
Con 'Italian sound’ the Reggina Domenico Scarlatti Musical Association wants to contribute to the dissemination and valorization of Italian musical culture in the world and are, Still, and always, firmly convinced, that Reggio Calabria can represent, in the best possible shape, Italian style and culture on the international scene with its warmth, his welcome, its values coming from a history rich in culture and traditions of great civilization.
The project ‘Italian sound’ , to date, continues and is renewed with events that are always different but aimed at the main purpose : diffusion of the very rich Italian musical heritage and training of young musical talents.
Tiziana Pizzi, Chairman
“Nobody can teach you anything, if not what lies half asleep in the dawn of your consciousness. The master who walks in the shadow of the temple, among disciples, he does not give his science, but his love and his faith. And if he is wise he does not invite you to enter the house of his science, but it leads you to the threshold of your mind. The astronomer can tell you what he knows about spaces, but he cannot give you his own knowledge. The musician can give you the melody that is in the air, but it cannot give you the sound fixed in your ear, nor the echo of the voice. And the mathematician will be able to describe to you reasons for weights and measures, but he will not be able to guide you there. For one man's vision does not lend its wings to another man. And how God knows you by yourself, so everyone among you must be alone in knowing God, and alone he will understand the earth.”
Gibran Kahlil Gibran

If wisdom is given with this exception, that I may keep it enclosed and not utter it, sell: It is a pleasant possession of no good without a partner”.
'I really want to transfer all my knowledge to you, and for this reason I am happy to learn: to teach; and no notion will make me happy, however excellent and useful it may be, if I can't share it with anyone. If wisdom were granted to me with the condition of keeping it only for myself and not being able to share it, I would refuse it: the possession of no good is pleasant if it is not shared with a friend'.
