Course program

The course is dedicated to pianists who want to start an alternative path to soloism, then get started, deepen or perfect the job of master collaborator.

The masterclass includes the study of operas and/or individual operatic arias.

Particular importance will be given to the methods of execution, fidelity to the score but also to the playing traditions, and to practice with singers, students of the singing masterclasses, with which there are hours of collective study and deepening together with the teachers .

The study and practice of sight reading will also be very important, which is a fundamental part of the work of the Master Collaborator.

Advanced training courses for symphonic/choral lyric repertoire aimed at participation in competitions held by public bodies

During classes, as well as the correct approach to piano accompaniment, the knowledge of operas and some of the most important pieces of the symphonic/choral repertoire will be deepened.

Furthermore, part of the course will be dedicated to the preparation of choral pieces normally used in competitions of opera and symphony organisations.

Collaboration with singers will give the opportunity to learn how to accompany operatic arias or simply how to teach a single choral part.

Mirco Roverelli ha obtained the piano diploma under the guidance of Maestro Stefano Cucci with maximum marks at the Conservatory of S. Cecilia in Rome, where he also studied composition.

He then followed the specialization course held by Maestro S. Perticaroli at the National Academy of S. Cecilia, graduating in 1995 with full marks and honors.

He had the first claim alone 9 years resulting winner of the second prize at the "Coppa Pianists of Italy". Since then he has collected numerous awards in various national and international competitions (including 6 first prizes).

He debuted in a solo recital 12 years and has held concerts ever since, also as a soloist with orchestra, in the main Italian cities.

Abroad he has played in prestigious concert halls including Queen's Hall in Edinburgh, Il Salon Dorado of the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, The Wells Chatedral in England, il Liszt Museum in Budapest.

In addition to his solo activity, for twenty years he has been actively dedicating himself to collaboration in the opera and symphonic choral repertoire.

Collaborate with Rai, Radio 3 and recorded for the broadcast "La Barcaccia" selections from Carmen with B.Baglioni and Falstaff with G.Taddei, F.Cossotto, A.Romero e J.Perry. He accompanied internationally renowned singers:  among others, J.Carreras, F.Bonisolli, A.Rinaldi, R.Aronica,F.M.Capitanucci, J. Kaufmann, A. Netrebko, S.Ganassi (just to name a few).

From 1998 he is a Master assistant in the room at the National Academy of Santa Cecilia, and has worked with the greatest directors including: W.Sawallisch, J. Tate, C. Abbado, G.Sinopoli, M.W.Chung, G.Pretre, D.Oren, A.Pappano and many others.

E’ was the pianist for the concert held by the great baritone Leo Nucci held in Spoleto for his 40 years of career, of which concert was also recorded a live CD.

E’ regularly invited to important international competitions as an accompanist pianist and to hold Master Classes as a trainer for opera singers.

In December 2010 he has also undertaken the activity of conductor which has already seen him engaged in several concerts, and recently debuted in the operas Carmen by G.Bizet, Tosca by G.Puccini and Barbiere di Siviglia by Rossini enjoying great success with critics and audiences.

In 2013 was invited to the prestigious Gabala Festival in Baku (Azerbaijan) conducting an opera concert with the Jerusalem Philarmonic Orchestra, that he saw, among others, the participation of the great baritone Sergei Leiferkus and the tenor Yusif Eivazof.

In March 2016 was invited to hold a symphonic concert with the Bacau Symphony orchestra, enjoying a very warm success.

In July 2017 he made his debut at the Mythos Opera Festival in G.Bizet's Carmen, in the magnificent setting of the Maniace Castle in Syracuse. In 2018 made his debut as conductor in Traviata at the VIVA OPERA festival in Magnitogorsk in Russia.
